I'm particularly fond of the Japanese delectable nudles, the flavourful soup base and springy nudle strands are simply to die for.
My dinner tonite: A bowl of green tea flavoured soba dipped in nice soba sauce, topped with seaweeds and voila! Simple and satisfying.
By the way, last week I ran out of stock and tried to get some imported soba from Jusco and Isetan but I immediately backed off upon seeing the price. Can you believe that? RM 15 for a small lil' packet of soba...Guess good food always come with a hefty price tag.

xiu long bao,
Soba is good for a quick dinner! haha! Yea, when I was in Miri, I found out that Soba is so expensive! But here, you can buy a packet of Soba for about $2.50. Of course, don't convert lah. :P
kok: $2.50 a packet? quite cheap! not to forget a bottle of nice soba sauce too :)
Lucky you. Envy envy!! Actually errr.. i never tried soba before, it's to be eaten cold right?
precious pea: U should try it! Yummy! But only if the soba is dipped into high quality soba sauce. It should be served cold but I was too lazy to wash the soba under cold water ;p
Kakaka..me like preciouspea, never tasted soba before. Have to admit cold noodle sounds abit off for me. :P

teambsg: waa..soba + wine...so exotic!somemore beside the beach ;p
Soba with wine? Mmmmmm not bad... but i think SOBA with sake would be gud! Cold Soba top with some heated sake! oooooohhhhh
xiu long bao,
It doesn't need to be nice soba sauce. The last time my housemate cooked, he actually used normal light soya sauce and it tasted as nice! Yummy! I have two more packets of Soba in the cupboard. Probably will have that some day.
I'll join Precious Pea and tankiasu. Everytime I went to Japanese restaurant, I like to try their cold soba but always attracted by other dishes ^^
CSB: Ppl were drinking wine with soba la... not dipping in wine.
kok: Lite soya sauce oso can? Maybe i should try it nxt time.
jason: haha...me too! but normally the portion of a serving of soba is small so u can still try other food :)
xiu long bao,
can can. No need high quality soba sauce. Easy-to-obtain-light-soya-sauce also can. No problem one. Give it a try next time. Say, 1/4 of your Soba is dipped with that.
We get lots of imported stuff here, but is soba sauce that good?
kok: okay! since my bottle of soba sauce is finishing soon.
kay:i'm using a bottle of japanese soba sauce, it is really aromatic and goes really well wiv nudles. Btw, kok suggested using chinese lite soya sauce, good value for money!
xiu long bao: That's true.. maybe next time I'll try :P
i just had soba that day..my my..it was heavenly..served on a bed of ice..tat was as cold as it could get..yum yum
jason:good! ^_^
S.W.I.C.C: serve on a bed of ice? sounds interesting, i should try eating soba this way @ home :)
So those bottled soba sauce are good? Can recommend which brand?
tummythoz: Dat bottle of sauce was bought by my aunt from japan. I think u can get nice soba sauce from Jusco's or Isetan's Japanese food shelves. They are darn expensive and kok suggested using chinese lite soya sauce.
