Macau Portuguese Egg Tarts and Lou Por Peng

Mum just came back from Macau last nite and brought back these yummy treats...slurrppp!

This is the famous Portuguese Egg Tarts, costs about $6 per piece, quite expensive but is really yummy and aromatic! The crust is flaky and the egg is soft and delectable.
Another scrumptious treat, lou por peng, flaky crust wiv sweet winter melon fillings. But I still prefer the one from Kong Kee @Yuen Long, Hong Kong.

xiu long bao,
RM6 for a Portuguese Egg Tart is way too expensive lah. Maybe you can learn and bake those egg tarts and sell them back to the bakery for RM1 per piece. haha!:P

Macau food definately pricier if compared to Malaysian food, but i find much cheaper than Hong Kong. And quality and quantity also much better than ours. Anyway...the egg tarts...ooo...heavenly good. My hubby doesn't like sweet stuffs and were asleep when i took a first bite. Forced him to try and he jumped up from the bed for more tarts. Next day he ended up buying 8 pieces.

The best I was told is at Coloane Village called Lord Stow, the first bakery offering the tarts. Really good I must say...if interested, check out my post on Macau trip. Link is at the right side of my blog.

the portuguese egg tart should be MOP6 not RM6 each.

Macau food is tasty becos they have the heart to cook, esp those old eaties. not like HK put lots of MSG instead.
