Still not tempted yet? Take a look at the newspaper cuttings pasted all over the wall.
Tucked away in a corner of a row shoplots, it is easy to overlook this hidden gem if you are not familiar with this area. Hopefully this retarded map (yes, drawn by me!) is good enough for you all to locate this restaurant that offers great authentic Hokkien specialties.
We started off with a basket of homemade sesame and rice puffs, coated with gooey molasses. Apparently it is the Hokkien's tradition to give out these puffy goodies during wedding celebration.
The main dishes served were fantastic as well (no kidding), we had...
Braised pork (RM 18) that matches perfectly with alkaline kuih
Crispy deep fried brinjal (RM 10) that is highly recommended by the food sampling team. Warning: Highly addictive dish that will make you crave for more once you sank your teeth into the crunchy strips.
Taadaa...my fave dish of the nite has got to be this giant Curry Chicken Bun (RM 28). This is one of Hua Xing's signature dishes that needs to be pre-ordered at least a day ahead. The team enjoyed soaking up the soft melting bun into the thick yummy curry gravy. Absolutely delish esp for curry lovers.
Instead of having the usual Hokkien yellow noodles and Mee Suah, the taukeh recommended that we give their homemade sweet potato and tapioca noodles a try. Sounds interesting we thought.
Our meal is never complete without desserts, as usual, Sunny from Big Boys Oven fed us with his new creation again and this time round we had petite chocolate and caramelised banana cupcakes. Do drop by their website and feast your eyes with their luscious desserts :)

The pre-cooked look.
Stir fried sweet potato and tapioca noodles (RM 10). The texture of the noodles was rather chewy but springy at the same time. A good try if you are bored of the usual mushy noodles. Taste wise, they were more or less the same like the ever popular blackie Hokkien noodles.

All in all, we were very satisified with Hua Xing's good authentic Hokkien dishes, do remember to give their Curry Chicken Bun a try! With great hospitality, cosy warm ambiance that gives you the kind of eating-at-home feeling and affordable pricing, what more can you ask for? Hmm...probably a larger serving of food cus we just can't seem to get enough of 'em.
