Little Penang Kafe @ KLCC

I have recently cut down on dining out @ 'posh' restaurants, no buffets, no fine dining, no fresh sashimi cuts. Waiting patiently...one more day to pay day :)

Last nite I was digging my photo album, knowing that I'm running out of food reviews, haha...luckily I still have a few food pix taken from this Little Penang Kafe.

So...two weeks ago we were at KLCC, for the Isetan Grand Sale of course (thats why 'mo-mo' money lor). Gotta admit that I feel a tad boring about KLCC's food, not many varieties to choose from unless you are willing to spend more on those over priced restaurants.

As usual, I had got to fix my craving for shaved ice dessert and so we settled at this Little Penang Kafe. Actually I think I'm getting pretty crazy over ice kacang, chendol and fruit 'loh' recently. Must control my sugar intake 0_o Aiyor...so many things to cut down...

Char siew bao went for a bowl of ice kacang (RM4.50). The aching sweetness of syrup and sarsi is contemplated but we luv the crunchy peanuts sprinkled on top which went so well with the shaved ice.

My bowl of Penang cendol (RM4.20) came with palm sugar, different from the usual Malaccan version which is drizzled with fragant gula melaka.

Still can't get enough of Penang specialties? You can have Penang Lobak, Penang otak-otak (huh?), Penang char kuey tiao or Penang curry nudles here. We chose to have a plate of Penang rojak (RM6.50) that came with sliced brown squids, mango, jambu, yambean, cucumber etc served with a generous amount of sticky gooey rojak sauce. This is triable, on par with Penang's authentic rojak buah.

And lastly, we must have rice! Char siew bao chose the most filling main in the menu--nasi lemak (RM9). The rice was good, flavourful and fluffy but the serving was stingy, with one small piece of curry fish, a dollop of sambal and 2 small prawns. Madam Kwan fares better in terms of serving.

The bill came up to Rm27, overall the food is not bad, a good place to fix your hankering for penang food.

LOCATION: 4th Floor of Suria KLCC.

I used to work opposite of KLCC and i also got your problem, waiting for salary at the end of everymonth cos can't resist the temptation to stop by Isetan every now and then for clothes. Now that I work in Plaza Mont' Kiara, i spent all money on food. Bad, really bad. Need to work in factory with lunch provided oledi. LOL!

I love Little Penang - must have is the achar fish set as most places don't serve that type of fish and the lorbak. Had their Siamese Lemak Laksa last Sat at the Curve which was also good.

Since payday is just round the corner, what do u plan to spend it on? Lots more sales around so better keep eating hawker food.
