Nyonya Colors @ One Utama

There is this newly opened Nyonya Colors stall in One Utama, we tried to get a seat for the past few weeks but it was forever packed wiv patrons.

Yesterday, we were so determined to try its chendol (Yes, I still miss my bowl of durian chendol from Malacca, drizzled wiv lotsa Gula Melaka..yumzzz!). Be prepared to fight for seats if you want to try their nyonya specialities :)

This place is great for you to enjoy a tea break. They offer an extensive range of colourful nyonya kuihs for you to choose from. A small slice of kuih costs about 80 cents to RM1, pricier than the one sold in pasar malam but I can assure you that the kuihs tasted really GOOD!

I had my favourite pulut panggang (90 cents), kuih talam keladi (90 cents)--this is really good stuff! and sweet potato kuih (80 cents).

Two bowls of chendol (RM3.30). Not really good. It was just a bowl of shaved ice with lil' gula melaka and coconut milk :(

Char Siew Bao tried their yellow curry nudles (RM7.90). A generous serving of bihun and a chicken drumstick swimming in a sea of yellow curry sauce. We agreed that this is a must try at Nyonya Colors, the curry was very flavourful and aromatic!

Would luv to try other kuihs and their nasi kunyit on my next visit ^_^

xiu long bao,
The pulut panggang definitely looks nice to me. But RM0.90 for only 1/3 of the size I have in Miri, a bit too pricy though.

I sometimes like durian cendol and sometimes prefer it plain to have it the good 'ol way. Yeah, never get around to trying as it's usually pack.

Oh 4got to say that the Chendol was sad man... Shaved ice was "chunky"... Gula Melaka added was a tad to little for my liking... But then again... you don't usually find alot of chendol makers that add gula Melaka in KL nowadays...

But one thing that Nyonya Colours could have done to distinguish their chendol from the rest, bsides being a bit more "generous" with Gula Melaka would be to add some pulut into the chendol!

Ahhh... Chendol with pulut treasure at the bottom... Not many stalls do that, too....

Stuffs sold in 1 U are of course expensive .. even if it's just pulut. Anyway, I wouldn't even try the food there .. although I actually sat down once.. but then changed my mind and left. Embarrassing man ....

Btw .. I just moved to Wordpress ....

The size of the kuih is just nice for me! I think the kuihs sold in pasar malam is way too big, often cannot finish it at a time.
