Durian Chendol from Jonker 88
One can never resists this alluring and cooling chendol on a hot sunny day in Malacca.
Apek's Yummy Popiah @ Jonker Street
I believe this apek is the one who rolls up the best popiah in town, rekomended by KY. The busy apek also sells crunchy deep fried popiah. One roll of yummy popiah only costs you RM1.50. A different version from the KL sister popiah, busy apek chucked in generous amount of yambean, egg, and what else??? Was too busy eating, didn’t pay attention to the fillings :P Definitely the best popiah I have ever tasted. Aiyo apek, I miss your popiah so much!
Malaccan Pastries
Literal translation: Lou Por Peng-Pineapple Tarts-Now bake Now sell
I bought 12 pieces of Lou Por Peng from this Poh Keong Pastry Shop, near the Jonker Street carpark. Didn’t buy pineapple tarts this round cus there are still a few cans of CNY pineapple tarts sitting in my fridge. One piece of Lou Por Peng costs only 80 cents! Poh Keong also sells Tau Sa Peng (Mung Bean pastry) and Lou Kong Peng (Hubby pastry) which is a salty and not so yummy version of Lou Por Peng.

Nyonya Laksa and snacks
I had a bowl of this nyonya laksa which tastes blant L. A plate of stuffed you char kwai, topped with mayo which is crunchy and fluffy.

After having all these snacks, we head off to Teo Soon Loong for dinner. But I’m not done yet, I still binged on more snacks and fruits at nite…wonderful.

jason: Of cus nice la! Still craving for it! with lotsa gula melaka...yum yum.
Malacca chendol so different from Penang's. The gula melaka is really sticky and fragrant. I did not try the popiah this time. Next trip hope to stay overnight. Saw a few interesting drinking holes to hang out at Jonkers' St.
Btw, where did u stay?
tummythoz:
Penang chendol is more milky...definitely prefer the malacca version! Must try the popiah on ur nxt trip. Dun think i will ever hav time to try the drinking holes cus there r too much good food to savour!

ooohh, i miss the chendol! the thot of the sweet, sticky gula melaka makes my knees weak! haha..hmmm, the secret to the yummy popiah? think they put in chu yau zha ler
sc: huhhhhh????OMG...they put in lard? Not so healthy but once in a while ok la ;p
I must recommend the 'other" popiah stall. I find that even better and has remain as one of my ultimate favourites. Sold by a chinese man (but not apek), it's located along Jalan Bunga Raya (I think that's the street name) outside a smallish departmental store. There is usually a queue to buy the popiah.
