Italiannies, a rather unusual eatery which is reputable for serving large portion of food. Last Saturday, I finally made my way there to test my appetite.
Complimentary bread slices were given before taking our order.
This is the best of all. I luv the crusty bread slices, dipped into the aromatic tuscany olive oil and vinegar.
Warnings have already been given to Char Siew Bao bout the portion that Italiannies serves which can easily feed up to 3 persons. I already had my lunch so I thought one pasta and one dessert should be enough for two. He was starving at that time and was skeptical bout my order.
Not till our main is served...
This is one humongous bowl of Angel Hair Pomodoro with chicken (RM24.90). I had one-third of 'em and left the rest to the hungry Char Siew Bao. As per other food bloggers, this bowl of angel hair tasted really good, served with lotsa tomato chunks which I like. Absolutely the way I luv my pasta to be served.
Even the dessert, Tiramisu is 3 times the size of normal cake slices from other eateries. Priced at RM15.90, I think it is really worth the price, considering the big serving as well as the luscious mascarporne cheese layered in between.
Not to forget, our drinks... This is my frozen ocean fling (RM6.90)--a refreshing sweet sour drink with crushed ice.
Char Siew Bao ordered peachlifter smoothie (RM7.90), refreshingly good with peach chunks (i think) at the bottom.
Overall, the meal was enjoyable. I like the bread dipped in olive oil the most while Char Siew Bao luvs everything from Italiannies.
Our next try is the Wednesdays' never ending bowl of pasta, priced at RM19.90 per pax. Currently, the record holder is meiyen from da wheel of life and happiness and her darling, who managed to finish 4 bowls of pasta...bravo!

Precious pea: Check meiyen's post on Italiannies! Both of 'em hav 4 bowls of pasta. Each bowl is soooo big that can feed 3 persons. Not sure if the Wednesday's bowl is smaller ;p

jason: both actually :) The pasta was really gud...generous portion + high quality pasta sauce = what more can u ask for?

Yea that plate of angel hair looks really huge!!! Kakaka...just right for a big-eater like me. Makes me reminiscing about the time I spent in Australia, where all servings are huge. ;)

i've been to italinies twice and both times, the pasta i had was extremely salty. i've stopped going there since. but seems like everyone else have had good experiences..

Luv the food and service but friends in skirts got bitten by mosquitoes when we sit outside to the point that v asked for mosquito coils! They dun have.

It's one of the business strategies I guess. Serve large portion, can earn more. Why not?:P
kok: The pricing, though expensive is within the normal range of classy western restaurants. But Italiannies make its servings bigger than usual so u can bring 3 ppl (not so big appetite one) and order one main loh :)
What I like best is what's FOC..., their complimentary bread basket with their olive oil + balsamic vinegar drip..hehe

Pasta/Spaghetti here is so far the best i tasted! Even better than "Just Pasta" near Taipan area, Subang, which specialise in pasta dishes!
Buffet Wednesday Here I Come!

Sniff! Yet to try this place as it's usually 2 of us and no way we can eat so much. Must go gather lots of people to try this one day.

psst ... italiannies pasta promotion is ending this week.
Problem with pasta dishes in Italianies is that the pasta is pre-prepared...and tastes like it. You can do better by yourself at home, which is a pity.
