Iketeru @ KL Hilton

Happy Chinese New Year to all of you!

This post is dedicated to those who believe that Jogoya serves the finest Japanese buffet spread. I have always wanted to try Iketeru’s Jampagne Buffet. Till last Saturday, reservation was finally made and we set off to KL Hilton.

The Jampagne’s concept is rather different from the normal self service buffet spread. The price per pax is RM 98++. Mind you, drinks are not included. A pot of flowing green tea costs another RM8 per person. If you love champagne, take the RM168++ one where you will get unlimited flow of champagne. Browse through the menu first and order your fave dishes (max 5 dishes at one time). For carbs lover, rice and noodles are not in the menu but no additional costs were charged for our garlic fried rice.

Take a look at our scrumptious meal…

Ooiyor, this scallop is simply to die for. It was as big as my palm! The crunchy scallop was cooked in creamy white sauce and baked in the oven.

Iketeru offers an extensive range of sashimi for you to choose from. I had my fave white tuna, ebi and octopus slices which were really fresh and good.

Unagi sushi.

Another delectable dish from Iketeru—unlimited supply of grilled gorgeous tiger prawns. *Slurppp*
Soft shell crab rolls and California maki.

This is cod fish cooked in sake. Love the fish but I didn’t find the taste of sake appealing.

Initially, I ordered simmered sea bream but it was out of stock and they replaced my order with this simmered chicken wing @_@

I craved for more grilled scallops after having the one cooked in white sauce.

Simmered Japanese yam. The yam were mashed, rolled into cutie balls and cooked in thick gravy. Another alluring dish, only from Iketeru.

Even the fried wantons tasted surprisingly good with thousand island sauce.

For desserts, I had a few scoops of ice cream. Clockwise: Lime sherbet, green tea (luv this!) and black sesame. There are also other varieties like red beans and vanilla.

Glutinous rice ball in hot red bean soup.
Overall, the ambience is really good, nice and cozy, the service is attentive, and the food is superb. Price wise, this meal burnt a big hole in his pocket. With those non sense plus plus thingy like service charge and govt tax, the bill came up to RM243.80 for two.

Drooling? Make reservation now! Call 03-2264 2264.

Location: KL Hilton is located right opposite the KL Sentral Station.

The food at iketeru were absolutely delicious, IMHO. Presentation wise it was cute and neat ala fine dining style. Service was top notch... what you can expect from a restaurant in a 5-star hotel! My absolutely fav dish has to be the grilled tiger prawns and scallops!!!! The fish in sake was slightly disappointing though... sake was highly diluted... barely noticeable.... Anyways a must try for gourmet lovers!

So yummy but I doubt I can persuade someone to take me here. Incidentally why do they have a Smart for 2 car painted with the Jampagne ad in the lobby? Is it part of some competition or just an ad for the buffet? Saw it that night but didn't ask around as everywhere was super busy.
