Alberto Pizza and Pasta @ Desa Sri Hartamas (with highly rekomended yummy gelatos!)

Being a well-known ice-cream fanatic among my friends, I just can’t seem to have enough of these delectable icy frozen desserts. Back in aussie, I can even have ice-cream during winter…hehe…

Aside from fish & chips, the not-to-be missed dessert from aussie is definitely gelatos from the famous Gelatissimo. For the moment, click here to feast your eyes with their vibrant flavours.

Hmm…so back to Malaysia, I’ll have to say that the best gelato award should go to Alberto Pizza and Pasta (forget about lecka-lecka). I have been a loyal fan to Alberto’s gelatos for 3 years and still luvin’ it so much that I must have a few scoops whenever I’m around that area.

This is my triple scoops of the nite, priced at RM12, as usual I chose my fave flavours, i.e Kinder Bueno (they add in real Kinder Bueno chunks!), crispy choclolate chips and pistachio.
Last night was my first try on Alberto’s pizza and was surprised to find that the pizza tasted really good. Take a look at our dining table…..

The best thing when dining out is to get complimentary snacks. Different from the usual bread and butter/ olive oil, we were given a free basket of thin pizza crusts with mustard. The taste? Absolutely luvly when dipped into mustard.

Char Siew Bao’s source of vitamins for healthy living—Mixed Vege Salad Buffet (RM15). A good mix of cooked green peas, carrots, zucchinis, tomatoes, aubergines, broccolis and cauliflowers, tossed with aromatic olive oil.

Here comes the star of the nite—Seafood Pizza (RM24). We luv the thin pizza crust, topped with prawns, mussels and calamari. And not to forget, the cheesy mozzarella…yumz! By the way, this is an 11” pizza, equivalent to Pizza Hut’s Large Pizza? Quite a big portion actually, luckily we didn’t order pasta!

What are you waiting for? Go for Alberto’s pizza, pasta and gelatos :)

Anyway, do drop me a comment if you have great gelatos to recommend, I’ll really appreciate that ^_^

For some strange reason, we have not tried this place ever since it became Alberto from the old Pasta Connection! Guess we missed out! Thxs for the recommendation.

kok: Of course if u buy from ice cream parlows. Sometimes coles n woolworth have ice-cream promotions, I think 'Peters' ice-cream is the most affordable one, around $5 a tub?
Hei, can u give me the link to ur ice-cream post? thanks :)

boo_licious: hmm...so this is a new restaurant? I think Alberto's business is not dat good. We were the only diners dat nite. But i do luv their friendly service, free snacks n free flow of water.

Yay! IMHO its the best gelato i taste so far in Malaysia! Not too sweet like lecka lecka's 1... Gelato here is nice and soft...
The best thing is the PRICE! RM5 for a small single scoop, RM7 for large sincle scoop & RM10 for double scoop! Servings r slightly bigger than "lecka lecka"!

But lately the gelato Alberto serves is a bit too soft and melt quite fast... I think somthing's wrong wit its refrigeration... Gotaa fix it ALberto!!!!!

Xiu Long Bao said...

CSB: Exactly, the gelatos melt really fast as seen in the pic but i still luv it :o

jason: baskin robbins is my fave ice cream too! U should try gelatos, which is 'almost fat free' version of ice cream, taste as fabulous as creamy ice cream :)

U r definitely making me very curious abot this shop. Sounds like an undiscovered gem esp with free snacks & free water!

Ok now I understand why its always empty during lunchtime. I went there this afternoon, and found out that they do not serve pizzas for lunch!

Without pizzas, their menu seems limited and the prices aren't exactly cheap. So yea, mystery solved.

Xiu Long Bao said...

tummythoz: newest update by tankiasu, Alberto doesn't serve pizzas for lunch, so go for dinner instead :)

tankiasu: ooppsss, dun noe bout dat, soli :8 agree wiv u dat the food r expensive.

xiu long bao: Nope, Ipoh don't have any. Eatery business is hard to survive here, especially western ~_~

Xiu Long Bao said...

jason: bcus ipoh chicken rice and hor fun beat all the western food? must be!

It's not a new place but a pretty old place but it took over a popular pasta joint (one which used to make their own fresh pasta).

Xiu Long Bao said...

boo_licious: fresh pasta sounds interesting to me! I noe dat fasta pasta is serving hand made fresh pasta. Yet to giv it a try.

Haha I luv gelato too! Hm....penang Maxim bakery at Belissa Row, Pulau Tikus is ok. Not very consistent. Bailey gelato was great at my first try. Yupz, real Bailey liquer. Havent try those gelato from high class restaurants but whenever I go Spore, I will visit Venezia (gelato outlet). Luv them a lot. Their rum and raisin is good lar. I featured it before but duno when it was posted. Anyway u can scan thru and see if the pic is there. lolz : ) But I have a soft spot for New Zealand Natural's Macademia Nut. Hehehe

Xiu Long Bao said...

halo jian! Thanks alot for ur rekomendations!!! Will plan my gelatos adventure to these outlets :)

Hi, if you lurve gelato, go to www.gelatomio.com, I go to the one in Phileo Damansara where their production takes place. If you like affogato, this is THE PLACE! You must try the Cointreau Orange Affogato. If the owner is there (an Italian man named Massimo), tell him I recommended to you. Enjoy! Medaline
